The most important part of every trip is your safety.
Here are some road safety tips to help get you to your destination safely.
- Respect road rules
- Follow speed limits & abide by the law
- Check your tyres (including your spare if you are using a car)
Tyres are critical to your safety. If you have a tyre burst, you not only endanger yourself but other road users - Don’t type & drive
- Do not drive under the influence of alcohol/drugs
- Do not drive if you have taken medication that may impact your ability to drive
- Pay attention to the road and take a break when you are tired
- By law and for your safety, motorbike users should always wear a helmet
- If you are driving a car, always buckle up
- Keep your driving licence with you at all times
- Drive slowly and be cautious when there is low visibility or poor road conditions
- Use indicators for every turn or lane change
- Show extra caution in intersections – most crashes occur when a driver fails to see a motorcyclist and turns in front of a motorcycle
